The festival

Lost Lake

A boutique electronic music festival for over 21s, set in a wooded North Devon valley across the bank holiday weekend, 29–31 August 2026. Inspired by the music, aesthetics and wellness culture of Tulum, Mexico. Bringing the global sounds of Tulum to North Devon. Intimate by design, shaped around the setting and the people in it, from golden hours to exclusive sunrise sets.

The venue

Plaistow Mills is a 16th century mill, set in a wooded valley near Barnstaple, with the river running right through the middle of it. The water, the old stone barns, the trees and the immaculate lawns create a stunning backdrop, and the stages and wellness sit within a few minutes of each other.

Plaistow Mills, Muddiford, North Devon
Our story

How it started

Lost Lake started small, five years ago, from word of mouth parties in the Devon countryside, built around community rather than big names.

We're respected for booking breakthrough and established global DJs and producers while championing outstanding homegrown talent. Lost Lake is a place to discover new music and emerging artists, and we believe that's how it should be. This isn't a commercial event. It's intimate, but it never compromises on quality, created for likeminded music lovers who enjoy the finer things in life.

Food & drink

Food and drink

Vegetarian tacos on a wooden board with fresh lime

Globally inspired, locally sourced

Good food is half the trip. At Lost Lake we have brought together a run of street food traders serving the flavours, colour and energy of Tulum, from proper Mexican tacos to Caribbean jerk, freshly baked Authentic Italian pizza and plenty of plant based options. Whether you are grabbing something between sets, refuelling after morning yoga or settling in for sunset with friends, there is something for every appetite.

Tropical tiki cocktails with cinnamon and citrus garnish

Vagalume

At the heart of the festival, Vagalume brings together award-winning tropical drinks from Dark Bar and Twisted Disco.

Expect luxurious cocktails, ice-cold beers, premium spirits and proper non-alcoholic options, served beneath the trees with a laid-back beach-club feel. The drinks lean into Caribbean flavours, fresh citrus and Mexican influence, with signature serves inspired by Tulum's beach bars, jungle hideaways and late-night cocktail culture.

From spiced margaritas and passionfruit palomas to tropical mai tais, coladas, fresh fruit coolers and bold tiki classics, Vagalume is built for sunshine, music and serious drinks.

Food & drink

Vagalume, the Lost Lake bar

Set in the gardens of the Mill, Vagalume is a bohemian hideaway where nature, music and laid back luxury meet. A place to slow down, switch off and step away from the everyday.

Beneath our stretch tent you'll find beach style seating, tropical touches, chilled beach house DJs and an atmosphere built for long afternoons and slow evenings. Inspired by the free spirited beaches of Tulum, Vagalume brings a little of that to the riverside.

Riverside days. Golden hours. Candlelit nights.

By day, Vagalume is a place to unwind. Sink into the seating, take a cold pint in the shade, try a tiki inspired cocktail, and let our beach house DJs soundtrack the afternoon. Natural textures, relaxed surroundings and a welcoming feel make it the spot to gather with friends and enjoy the river.

As the sun sets, golden hour sets from some of our best house DJs take over. Candlelit tables, warm lighting and handcrafted cocktails make the setting for sunset drinks and slow evenings beneath the stars.

Whether you're here for a drink or simply somewhere beautiful to sit, Vagalume feels a long way from the everyday.
